2026 Monthly Challenge

Rules for 2026 Monthly Challenge

  1. Digital images must be captured between the dates given for each month.
  2. Only JPG files can be accepted. Please try to keep files down to a size of 2-3 MB (or less). Images must have a maximum of 1620 pixels on the horizontal side and a maximum of 1080 pixels on the vertical side. Images can be cropped to any size within these limits. (This is the old PSNZ standard which you may use OR see below.)

    The new standard is: Only JPG files can be accepted. Files size of 2-3 MB (or less). Images must have a maximum of 3840 pixels on the horizontal side and a maximum of 2160 pixels on the vertical side. Images can be cropped to any size within these limits.

3. Our new image up-loader has been tested and should work, so please use the following URL:

May Challenge

Digital images for our May challenge are to be captured between 20th April 2026 and submitted by midnight on 24th May 2026. Please see below on how to enter.

Image topics

  • Fungus, Fruit, Flowers (Interclub Topic): From the natural setting to a formal arrangement, a photo which incorporates one or more of the themed items.
  • Flight – (Interclub Topic): An object, bird, person, in the act of flying through the air.
  • Water – Water: Captured how you wish. Some suggestions to think about are motion, reflection, use of light, abstract.

    Name your images by copying and pasting the corresponding file name to the photo, inserting your name where indicated.

    Digital images for our April challenge are to be captured between  23rd March 2026 and submitted by midnight on 19th  April 2026Please see below on how to enter.

    Image topics

    • Fellowship – (Interclub Topic) a photo which captures a sense of community, togetherness, shared concern or care for others.
    • Fashion – (Interclub Topic) flair, flamboyance – anything goes as long it is conveys the theme.
    • Contrast – Could be two contrasting colours, Dark/light areas in your photo, etc.

    Name your images by copying and pasting the corresponding file name to the photo, inserting your name where indicated.

    • Food glorious food (Interclub Topic) – A shot which makes the mouth water and the stomach rumble.
    • Fire and / or Frozen – (Interclub Topic) an image that captures either or both senses of heat and cold.
    • Sport – There has been a change, Sport is this month’s theme and the topic is taken by Jeff Mein Smith.

    Digital images for our February challenge are to be captured between 12th January 2026 and submitted by midnight on 22ndFebruary 2026. Please see above on how to enter.

    Image topics

    1. Freeze the action (Interclub Topic) action shot which captures the sense of motion but with minimal or no blur. Panning shots which show background blur are not valid.
    2. Facial expressions – (Interclub Topic) a facial expression which captures and conveys emotion.
    3. Architecture – Based on last years speaker, interior, exterior. Day or night, up to you.
